About Us

The Israeli Society for Eye and Vision Research (ISVER) was founded in 1979 by Prof. Elaine Berman with the aim of promoting eye and vision research in Israel and encouraging cooperation between physicians and researchers involved in eye diseases. Since 1980, the society has held an annual scientific conference on eye research, attended by approximately 200 physicians, researchers, students and interns involved in the field. ISVER became an international branch of ARVO on April 29, 2006.

Chairmen and Chairwomen of the Israeli Society for Eye and Vision Research

We have been leading eye research in Israel since 1980. In the December issue of the Hatzofe newspaper of that year, an exciting announcement was published about the establishment of the Israeli Society for Eye and Vision Research, which received its official approval from the Ministry of the Interior - Jerusalem District Administration. This publication not only marked a significant milestone in the organization of eye researchers in Israel, but also laid the foundation for the research and professional activities of the Society, which continues to lead and influence the field to this day. Join us on the journey for better vision!
